  1. Do not place heavy or breakable objects on top of wardrobes etc.
  2. Heavy or easily broken furniture should be firmly attached to walls.
  3. The area around gas stoves, heaters and other equipment using open flames should be kept clear.
  4. Electricity may be cut off in an earthquake, so prepare a flashlight and portable radio.
  5. Areas for refuge in the event of a large earthquake or fire are designated in each neighborhood.

※Please confirm the location of the Refuge Facility nearest you.

In the event of an EARTHQUAKE (JISHIN)

  1. Turn off gas appliances and heaters.
  2. Move away from furniture liable to fall over, and hide under a table or desk.
  3. Leave a window and door open in order to ensure an escape route.
  4. Due to fallen glass etc., be sure to wear shoes when you go outside.
  5. Keep away from narrow alleys, walls, cliffs and riverbanks.
  6. Act according to proper information from the radio and television.
  7. Take refuge in the designated area.
